Melissa Abdine (RYT 200) is a recovering Type A who has been practicing yoga for over 16 years. After the birth of her 2nd child in 2009 she began exploring Bikram and Iyengar based vinyasa yoga. It didn’t take long for her to discover the mind and body benefits from consistent practice. In 2013 she took her practice to the next level by completing her first teachers' training with Gioconda Yoga. She continues to pursue education in yoga and will be participating in a training for teaching kids yoga with The Little Yoga House in 2015, and will lead her first yoga retreat to Sonoma in 2016. This ongoing process of learning is what provides the fresh insights that inspire her teaching. Melissa’s classes are alignment based, playful, and refreshing. When she is not on her mat, you can find her drinking way too much coffee with her husband, biking around the ‘hood with her daughters, teaching elementary kids crafty things, or chilling out in her backyard.About Melissa Abdine
The Lotus Feed Retreat Center at Taylor Maid Farms rests on 108 acres of vital Sonoma coast nature. Its diverse landscape provides the most exquisite and magical experience of raw and cultivated beauty: from our redwood, fir, and oak forests, to our thoughtfully designed circle gardens, and our ocean view ridge-tops that overlook our colorful and hidden creek beds. The Lotus Feed Retreat Center is blessed with a full palette of wonder.
We have thoughtfully crafted the native land into a perfect classroom to dive into wild edibles and medicinals. Our cultivated gardens and structures present learning experiences in permaculture, and the peace and energy of the land provide a backdrop for transformation, learning, and evolution. Farm to table meals are harvested from our stunning circle garden and prepared in our outdoor pizza oven imported from Italy.
Retreats include food (two organic farm to table meals a day-plus coffee, tea, and smoothies upon waking) and all of the retreat spaces (outdoor yoga deck, indoor yoga Bindu Yurt, trails, gathering space, fresh water springs, pond, and gardens).

The Lotus Feed is a place like no other! Everything is extremely well thought out and done with love. I can't wait to go back!
The Lotus Feed and Retreat center is AMAZING. I cannot say enough good things about it. The women running the retreat, Jenae and Andzia, were always present for any questions we had and were super friendly and helpful. I'm not a vegetarian, but I ate a vegetarian based diet for 5 days and absolutely loved every single meal. The morning smoothies were all incredibly tasty, as was the coffee. Both brunch and dinner offered a minimum of 5 different foods, all made with about 80% of the food grown on the property, and each meal had a dessert! The property itself was remote and beautiful, and we were invited to make ourselves at home and explore the grounds. I am absolutely interested in going to this same location again, or even interning with them to learn some of the incredible recipes they made.
The trip was superb! Melissa was a lovely teacher & the whole gang were wonderful. Lodging & food great too.
The Lotus Feed was a beautiful farm run by the loveliest couple! The tents and yurts are excellent for glamping, the yoga spaces, indoor and out are great and the highlight of this retreat is the food. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but everything they prepared was amazing! Melissa Abdine led us all in a wonderfully fun and diverse yoga practice throughout the weekend that I think each guest enjoyed! What a great experience!
Amazing experience! The staff, instructor, food...all was perfect.
Lotus Feed is a great venue with great hosts. I recommend it highly.

Fantastic! Great yoga, magical location.
Awesome food, good company and grew at yoga!
This trip exceeded our expectations, the experience was far beyond what the photographs show. We were a small group of 6 and all my guest were extremely pleased with the experience enough to want to go back. The lotus feed taylor made farm is a gem and I will be taking a group back. The food was exceptional, the service was amazing, the property was magical !!! gave this trip 5 stars.
The setting was tranquil and rustic chic. The hospitality and food were outstanding. The Yoga and Pilates instruction was excellent; participants were fabulous. The experience was very positive and beyond my expectations.
It was an amazing experience sharing a weekend with old friends and new ones, on a working farm in the midst of California wine country. Janea and Anzja are a well choreographic yet spontaneous partnership, who create a welcome atmosphere to their "home", The execution and presentation of the food is best I have ever had tasted.
