The Instructors

Christina Rairdan & Tina Clay
Yoga Ambassador

Christina Rairdan and Tina Clay are two successful yoga teachers in Northern CA, with a combined experience of teaching yoga for over 30 years. Together, their collaborative teachings and trainings have been offered to hundreds of students for the past 5 years. They have co-created the BEND Yoga teacher- training program, a 200-hour Yoga Alliance registered program that provides quality and compassionate instruction. Their yoga retreats have been sold out each year and participants that have been on one retreat most often return for future ones. One of the most unique aspects of this duo is that their teaching styles are different and complementary, which offers students a well rounded experience of yoga. Christina's vibrant energy is suited for the energetic vinyasa flow style of practice, which is where her heart lives, but she also cultivates the gentler flow practice to find balance for herself and her students. Tina's strong meditation practice is infused into all her teachings, which is mostly alignment based Hatha, restorative and meditation classes. Like Christina, Tina finds balance by teaching flow classes to harmonize her more reflective practice. Together this yoga teaching team brings joy, inspiration and fun into all their programs and events.

About Christina Rairdan & Tina Clay
Tina Clay
Yoga Ambassador

My love affair with yoga grew after it played an important role in my recovery from post-partum depression. I was practicing yoga postures, and working with the breath for a few years before I felt motivated by my own healing and decided to pursue teaching yoga in 2004. Over the years, I have taught yoga to a variety of different populations; from teens to seniors, and I have experience teaching a few different styles of yoga; from power yoga to the more restorative and gentler practices. After teaching for more than a decade, and experiencing many transformations of my own practice, I realized that regardless of the style of yoga – one’s practice is ultimately and completely about cultivating and nurturing a relationship to the inner self. This insight led me to begin a study of the philosophy of yoga and to explore the teachings of meditation, particularly in the Theravada Buddhist Vipassana (Insight) tradition. I have completed 300 hours of study and practice in Mindful Yoga and Meditation, which is the beautiful blending of Yoga and Dharma in one’s practice of postures and in sitting/walking meditation. Nowadays my practice and teaching methodology is to nurture compassion for the inner being and to cultivate a mindful attention to the full experience of the present moment. I welcome the opportunity to share my love for the Dharma and Yoga with you.

Hotel Puenta Monterrey was incredibly intimate and relaxing. If you want to unplug and remember what is important, this is the place. The owners are on site and involved in the day to day operations keeping in touch with the needs of their guests. It is family owned and cherished in a way that provides a quiet intimacy. Matias and Jaime went above and beyond to facilitate/translate during a health crisis of one our attendees. The leaders of our retreat, Tina and Cristina created a great daily yoga meditation curriculum. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience.... the entire staff is there to accommodate your every need, especially Jaime and Mateus. Exquisite rustic setting on private beach was pure paradise and the fresh food dishes were to die for AND super healthy...my fav was the fresh ahi, but close behind were the jack fish (sometimes caught right at our beach), dove fish, and tuna. The cuisine was an ongoing superb party of fresh flavors that tantalized the tastebuds!!!!

Excellent combination of superb yoga instruction, beautiful location and camaraderie. It rekindled my resolve to keep a daily yoga practice and gave me tools to enable that to easily happen. Being able to spend the free time on the adjacent beach and surrounding forest was spectacular.

The trip was fantastic! The location was idyllic and the seclusion or remoteness was what I was looking for in a retreat that was meant to enhance mindfulness, our awareness to be present and to be grateful of where we were and what we already have in our lives.

Amazing trip! Amazing resort! Friendliest staff, most beautiful beach, great accommodations, fantastic and super healthy meals prepared for us everyday! They had many great activities available for us each day such as kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking to a hidden beach with a mud bath. They harvested and served us fresh oysters from right off shore twice! I was able to snorkel out from our beach to a rock point and see a plethora of beautiful fish as well. I will certainly be going back to Punta Monterey!

Excellent trip. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, and the staff was very friendly. Food was delicious. No wifi, contrary to the website, which turned out to be fabulous but could have been an issue if I'd had a lot of work that needed to be done. I would definitely go back.
