The Instructor

Marianna Brill

Fitness Ambassador

In Marianna's first 6 years of her life as a former citizen of Russia, life was very difficult for her. After being adopted by an American couple in 1995 her new parents kept her active, whether it was through sports in school, dance classes on the side, or participating in summer camps. At the beginning of her early high school years, Marianna was part of the cross-country team. She still remembers when she had no proper understanding of nutrition or how to best prepare her body for long distance races. At the beginning of track season in the spring of her sophomore year, she tore the ACL in her knee. Recovering from this was one of the biggest challenges Marianna had to face. It took her quite a while to get back to being active again as she feared she would injure her knee again. This put Marianna into confused and depressed state, which eventually also lead to quite a bit of weight gain.

Three years had gone by when Marianna was able to come across the right resources to help her start becoming more serious about her lifestyle. Including staying fit and implementing proper nutrition. She finally decided it was time to get in shape and shed the weight and turn her life around. Her mindset had to change. Her committed journey began with training 5-6 times a day in the gym and consistently prepping her meals every week.

4 years after Marianna’s life-changing decisions, she decided to train for her first fitness competition. In the summer of 2015, she built the courage to step foot on stage and officially become a National Physique Committee Athlete.

Currently Marianna excels and works with a diverse clientele – from working with senior citizens, to those with disabilities, to women needing to shed extra weight during the menopause stage, to those clients that need to drop a drastic amount of weight. Marianna relates because her struggles were also real but in making the decision to transform her mind and body had also changed her life for the better in all aspects. Marianna understands how difficult it can be to make these changes and has great empathy for her clients all while guiding them to great success through her coaching methods.

Each year, Marianna’s desire and dedication to inspire others to start their fitness journey only grows stronger. She loves bringing results to her client’s specific goals and needs. And she definitely looks forward to giving you that time and value during your next vacation with her!

Samasati Retreat & Rainforest Sanctuary

The architecture of Samasati’s Caribbean casitas were designed to silently sit within the terrain, climate and natural offerings of this land. We deliver comfort within an earthy simplicity. We have ten Caribbean style casitas built with precious native woods that are nestled within lovely tropical gardens and the lush forest. All casitas have private bathrooms and a spacious veranda overlooking the rainforest and South Caribbean Sea. Some casitas have lofts that accommodate up to three people. All of our casitas have comfortable new mattresses, which are king, queen, full or two singles. Our guest House bungalows are smaller private rooms with a choice of a full or two single beds. The bungalows are semi-private with each sharing a bathroom with one other room. Outside, there are large verandas with hammocks overlooking the rainforest.

Our spa house consists of two cozy rooms sitting high up on a hill. A cool breeze gently brings in just the right amount of fresh air during your treatment. This is a sweet space where our guests feel comfortable and nurtured.

Samasati was amazing! It's perfect for nature lovers, tucked away in Costa Rica's rainforest with a quick 10 minute ride to the beach. The drive from the airport is long ( 4 1/2 hours approx.) but the views are worth it. The staff at Samasati are so wonderful!
