with Cortney Singleton in Nosara, Costa Rica
6 nights in Nosara, Costa Rica
Mon May 01 - Sun May 07, 2017
Situated on a pristine surf break in the sleepy town of Playa Guiones, far from the nearest paved road, Harmony Hotel is the perfect place to get in turne with your natural rhythm. Inspired by old school tropical destinations of eras that appreciated low key glamour and total escape, The Harmony Hotel opened in 2004. From the beginning, it has been a passion project for the owners—a couple who met surfing in Nosara—and all those involved in creating the lush, sustainable property where guests now mingle with hummingbirds and howler monkeys. Situated a stone’s throw from a pristine surf break with consistent year-round waves on Playa Guiones, the Harmony is ideal for a surfing adventure. But it is much more than that. It is a place for community and ideas—an ideal space for contemplation and deep relaxation.

Introducing, Cortney Singleton, originally from Fair Hill, MD. She has an integrative approach to wellness, fitness and holistic healing. In 1996, she moved to Orlando to complete her undergraduate degree in Communications at the University of Central Florida. After one year of working in the corporate setting, she realized she was destined for a "hands on" way to help people improve their lives. Cortney had been working at the YMCA in the marketing and membership while teaching indoor cycling and personal training. After attending one yoga class, it was clear to her that there was an alternative route to emotional and physical wellness. She received her formal teacher certification with Integrative Yoga in 2001 and Power Pilates Level 1 in 2005. Since then, she has been teaching yoga since 2001 under various influences including Shiva Rea, Baron Baptiste, Seane Corn and Dharma Mittra. Most recently she received her master's degree in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at The Florida College of Integrative Medicine. Every "body" she encounters receives a specialized treatment, often a combination yoga of all levels, acupuncture, Thai yoga and chinese massage, cupping, pranayama (breath work) and meditation. She has lead Yoga and Pilates trainings all over Costa Rica.
She was commissioned by royal family in Saudi Arabia to lead individual sessions with the princesses and Pilates teacher trainings for the fitness staff at Yibreen in Riyahd. "My yoga practice is a dynamic moving meditation that will strengthen you from the core of your body and being to develop a strong body, a sound mind and a loving spirit. Yoga brings brings mindfulness to movement and with diligence can create a peaceful existence on and off the mat." Cortney's life experiences have lead her to teaching at Orlando Power Yoga and The Salt Room to leading retreats in Costa Rica, Panama, California with Greece and Bali on the horizon. "Chinese medicine is a practice of treating the root of "dis"ease. Yoga is a discipline of integrating mind, body and soul. Live well, breathe deep and love deeper. Every day is a gift from God. I can only hope to positively influence and inspire each soul I meet along life long journey of natural healing."
Anyone who has visited the sleepy surfer town of Playa Guiones will tell you what a magical place it is. Harmony Hotel is committed keeping it that way for future generations. Harmony Hotel received a five-leaf rating from Costa Rica’s prestigious Certificate for Sustainable Tourism (CST) on its first evaluation and has maintained that rating since.
