A commonwealth of the U.S., Puerto Rico is a great destination for passport-free travel with many direct flights from major cities across the country. With beautiful beaches and a verdant interior, the island is gorgeous to be sure, but there is so much to do while there as well! Here are our favorite experiences to add to your PR to do list on your next trip.

Bask on the Beautiful Beaches
Puerto Rico has fabulous beaches with miles and miles of glittering white sands. Take a dip in the crystalline waters, nap under the palms and soak up the sun.
Try SUP or Surfing
The waves of Puerto Rico are some of the best you’ll find in the Caribbean. If you’ve never surfed or tried your hand at standup paddleboard (SUP), take a lesson and learn to hang ten.
Soar Over the Canopy on a Zipline
Get a bird’s-eye-view as you fly over the jungle canopy. An exciting way to experience the great outdoors, you won’t forget this heart pounding adventure.

Mountains
Take the time to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the coasts in Puerto Rico’s mountainous interior. The lush, green surroundings are the perfect antidote to the every day clatter of our lives.

Hike Through the Jungle
Puerto Rico’s forests that dot the countryside are zig-zagged with hiking trails. You’ll find panoramic views and get up close and personal with the island’s diverse flora and fauna.
Go Cave Tubing
Bob down the river and through some the island’s most unusual geological formations. Limestone eroded over thousands of years creates a unique landscape for you to explore.

Swim Beneath a Waterfall
The island boasts some spectacularly picturesque waterfalls or “cascadas” that are not to be missed. From quaint trickling streams to thunderous torrents, you’ll have your choice — don’t forget to pack your swimsuit!
