We’re surrounded by 13 hectares of our own land with forests, prairies, bamboo trees, fields and gardens - numerous secret nooks with hammocks and green hideaways for you to enjoy. The diversity of the Hamlet outdoors is something we ourselves enjoy the most! Forget about the noise pollution, here the only sound distractions would be.. well.. a concert by the frogs from the lake below joined by the sonata of the grasshoppers. Or something in the tunes of that. And the owl has something to say every now and then.
We'll make both day-trips as well as shorter visits, details depending on the theme of the retreat. A must are the visits to local vineyards in the Cahors area, the only Malbec producer region in France - we cannot miss the wine tasting while you visit! A few minutes away from us, the lovely "La Ferme de Lacontal" will open their doors behind the scene for us to see how their wonderful lavender products are actually made (seasonal: spring/early summer). All is bio and produced by one family. For the more adventurous we can take you literally "up in the air" at the nearby School of Parachutism (you will have to come down by yourself though). If you wish, we can have Karline, a basket weaver from the village, host you an afternoon tutorial on how to make your own countryside souvenir back home. We need to also visit the Hamlet's previous owners who still continue making their goat cheese. They still do all manually to be sold at one market weekly only. People come from far away for this treat and it is why we’ll also visit the farmers’ market at Montaigu de Quercy. The dinner at the cooperative restaurant "Tete d'Ail" will make sure you will want to return, both for the food as well as the ambiance. And we didn't even mention yet Lauzerte. This beautiful medieval site is named on the official list as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". Trust us, this is not all.
The venue provides ALL inclusive packages meaning all the meals, drinks and snacks. No matter when in the season you visit, we'll always have yummies in our garden for you to enjoy: tomatoes, salads, onions, garlic, peppers, green beans, peas, aubergine, courgette and potatoes and all the herbs. Truffle and wild asparagus hide in our woods (don't tell anyone!). Fruit trees with figs, walnuts and hazelnuts, almonds, apples, pears, peaches, plums and cherries - even olives. None of ours as perfect-colored or shaped as they come in the supermarkets - but we can assure you that the fresh tomato from the vine or a fig from a tree will be a treat!
Excellent great property and wonderful owner and hosts - Suska and Nico.
Amazing! I can’t wait to go back!
