Large_img_3642Sadia is a 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor and teacher trainer with over a decade of personal practice and years of experience instructing discerning clientele at independent studios, fitness clubs, and residential gyms, and in corporate and private environments in New York and Honolulu.

She teaches with reverence for the fundamental principles of biomechanics and a sensitivity to the poetics and energetics of the physical yoga practice, actively cultivating a learning environment where curiosity is king. She believes that balance of the body leads to freedom of breath, and that a sense of buoyancy and suppleness in the body leads to a lightness of mind.

Sadia came to yoga in 2001, as an athletically-inclined, mystically-minded college student seeking relief from depression. She immediately took to asana practice, which enchanted her for its marriage of form and function, and hooked her with its subtle poetics. She has since grown into a sensitive guide whose goal is to present yoga in more accessible, more authentic, and less alienating packaging, and to teach in a way that is deep, clear, compassionate, and true.

Sadia completed her 200-hour teacher training at YogaWorks, her 300-hour training at ISHTA Yoga, and an evolving list of trainings in anatomy and therapeutics. Her other interests include art, design, the natural world, color, and sound, and she draws great inspiration from each of these fields both as a student and teacher of yoga. Sadia is honored to be able to share the practice with others and extends her deepest thanks to all of her teachers, past, present, and future.
