For 25 years, I have had the honor of guiding students on a journey of self-discovery through yoga. When I began my yoga journey in the late 1980s I knew right away that this was the path to healing my body, mind and heart. My love of all things “yoga” inspired me to start teaching in 1990.
After receiving the healing work of massage to help recover from a car crash, I also became a registered massage therapist in 2000.
Since the day I first stepped onto a yoga mat, I have been drawn to alignment-based asana practice because of its ability to foster strength, flexibility and stamina – and not just in my body.
My early studies, teaching and certifications were rooted in the Iyengar and Anusara yoga methods. My current interests include exploring how yoga can offer therapeutic benefits for injuries and chronic conditions. This has led me to study biomechanics and certify in Critical Alignment Yoga Therapy. Yoga therapy provides an integrative approach to well-being and provides tools for coping with physical challenges as well as the psycho-emotional impact of chronic conditions.
Whether in one of my teacher training programs, a private one-on-one session or group setting, I’m dedicated to sharing my knowledge and helping you find your own strength and freedom. You can expect directive and detail-oriented teaching that will support you in body, mind and heart.
I am a curious seeker and continue to be an avid student of yoga asana and philosophy as well as anatomy, biomechanics, psychology and spirituality. I take ongoing courses, both yoga-based and academic, to keep my skills current and my mind and heart inspired.
As a yoga teacher and therapist, I hope be an inspiring part of your yoga journey that ultimately leads you home to yourself!
