Lindsay Fields has been practicing yoga since 2000 and teaching since 2009. With strong roots in the lineage of Bishnu Ghosh (otherwise known as Hot Yoga) and an ever-increasing knowledge of anatomy and the therapeutic applications of yoga, Lindsay's curious nature and dedication to the practice has resulted in an expansive and creative approach to Yoga.

At age 21 her life took an unexpected turn from an intended career as a classical musician to having to immediately cope with the onset of mental illness. With support and guidance from family and friends she sought treatment for depression and anxiety. The inclination to understand herself better led her to to her first yoga class. That class sparked in Lindsay what would become her life’s work and passion.

Lindsay has trained in many styles of yoga including Hot Yoga, Alignment-Based Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Therapeutic Yoga, and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. She offers one-on-one, individualized therapeutic yoga sessions to students seeking help with specific health or life challenges. When she’s not practicing or teaching a yoga class (or talking about yoga), Lindsay works for the Asheville, NC based yoga prop company Three Minute Egg.

In her weekly classes and workshops in Asheville, NC students can experience a playful, challenging class that is both nurturing and transformative. Classes are sequenced as a mindful flow of yoga poses linked with the breath (vinyasa), and include principles of alignment, a physical focus (i.e. hips or upper body), an energetic focus or theme (i.e. grounding, opening, or devotion), practices for the mind (mindfulness, concentration, visualization), breath work, and always finish with deep relaxation in a blissful savasana. As a special treat for her Yin and Restorative classes, she plays ukulele and sings!

Lindsay's personal yoga philosophy is that when we are happy, whole, and loving of ourselves, we have the ability to live with greater purpose. Yoga is the time-tested tool to help us live and serve our highest possibility.
