RYT 200 Yoga Aliance, Pilates Mat 1 & 2, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga
Toronto, ON, Canada
Jaime came to yoga after years of competitive dance training left her feeling stressed, sore and spiritually empty. She fell in love with the practice for it’s creative capacity and therapeutic benefits. She continued to practice through university while exploring her artistic and creative talents in the fine arts, and culinary world. After starting a catering company and working in the industry she decided to put everything on hold to pursue her first 200 RYT hour Yoga Alliance training in 2012. Studying under Kathryn Beet, Patricia White, and Hali Schwartz at Yogaspace in Toronto.
After a year of teaching Vinyasa and Hatha, she went on to pursue a Pilates Mat certification with Suzie Diaz at East to West Yoga and Pilates, as well as Barre training with Isabella Gorochowski (Booty Barre), in the interest of creating integrated Yoga/Pilates/Barre fusion classes.
Jaime attributes her 70+ pound weight loss transformation to these forms of movement and is a real
inspiration to her students, constantly promoting self acceptance and leading the body positive movement. Jaime's classes focus on building functional core strength, are fun and always changing.
She believes that every practice should nourish the total body, mind and spirit.
In the fall of 2014 Jaime was in motor vehicle accident that left her unable to practice the highly physical styles of yoga she grew to love, and as part of the healing process began to explore more meditative, gentle modalities of yoga, and investigate Pilates for rehabilitation. In October 2015 she completed a 40 hour Restorative training with Andrea Poloso and 40+ hours of Yin training with Amanda Montgomery & Marla Erickson.
In addition to teaching movement Jaime is also a Holistic chef and wellness Coach. She writes a healthy food blog under the moniker The Tomato Snob @tomatosnob on IG, where she shares healthy recipes and
inspiring lifestyle tid bits. She is extremely passionate about health and is a firm believer in the healing powers of food and mindful movement. Her intention is to inspire others to find wellness through yoga and easy to follow seasonal recipes.
